In this course, Georgetown students were in the unique position of being a student and a teacher. They were also community activists and guides a group of middle school students. They got to experience neighborhoods of DC that they had probably not yet seen. They also continued their community of scholars from Fall 2006. This was a rare opportunity to incorporate class activities and learning with field-based work in the community.
The title of the class "Immigrant Ethnography" was developed a couple of years ago and the class has changed over time. If given a new title, we might call it "Journeys."
