Rentals
Making your Reservation:
- Earliest reservation is the Monday (or first business day) of the week you are picking up your equipment.
- You may make the reservation in person or by phone during regular business hours, Monday - Friday, 10:00am - 5:00pm.
- Full payment is due at the time of reservation. We accept cash, checks and credit cards (Visa, MC). All phone reservations must be paid by credit card.
- Rental Rates are for the basic "day" rate. These rates cover a 1 day rental with a free day on either end for pickup/dropoff. We also offer extended rental rates, please call for more information.
- Two forms of identification must be provided at the time of rental, one must be a photo I.D.
- Students must show a current GO Card.
- Affiliates and General Public must show a valid Virginia, MD or DC driver's license and proof of affiliation (Staff card, Library Card, Alumni Association Membership Card,)
- Accepted forms of a second identification include a Driver's License, a Credit Card, or a Passport.
Picking Up Your Equipment
- Equipment, except boats, may be picked up at your scheduled pick up time on your designated day of pickup.
- Boats (sea kayaks, whitewater kayaks) can be picked up after 2:00pm on your designated day of pickup.
- Appropriate photo identification is required for all equipment pick up.
Returning Your Equipment
- All equipment, except boats, is due by 5:00pm on your designated day of drop off.
- Boats (sea kayaks, whitewater kayaks) must be dropped off by 12:00 pm on your designated day of drop off.
- All equipment must be returned dry and clean or a $10.00 cleaning fee will be charged.
- A repair / replacement cost will also be assessed for all broken, lost or stolen equipment.
- The late charge is 2 times the additional day fee for each day the equipment is late.
- Lost gear will result in the individual having to pay the full retail cost of the missing or stolen item.
Special Terms for OE Trips
Equipment that will be used for an OE trip may be reserved at the time of trip registration
Outdoor Education’s Reservation Policy
All reservations are final. If you want to cancel your reservation OE will try to rent your gear. If OE is able to rent your gear, you have the option of an OE credit for the full amount or a refund less $10.00 or 10% whichever is greater.
