GOPOP - Washington DC
Dates: August 17 - 22
Summary
Georgetown University is known for fostering the intellectual development of great leaders such as Bill Clinton, Antonin Scalia, Pat Buchanan, Guy Picciotto, and Allen Iverson. GOPOP DC seeks to combine this wealth of leadership development with the great outdoor opportunities that the Georgetown community has to offer its students.
Throughout the week, students will engage in community service and character-building activities while acclimating to the campus and the many communities that constitute our nation's capital. We will likely canoe/kayak on the Potomac river, visit a local high ropes course and do some team building, visit a local community garden or park and do some service work, as well as explore the vast array of sites in and around our great capital. One night will be spent out camping and sharing stories around a campfire, and yes, smores will be offered.
Like the other GOPOP trips, one of our major goals is to orient you to the campus by surrounding you with both upper-class leaders who come from a broad and diverse set of interests, but also by activities on and off campus. We are hoping that this year will be like previous years, where you will meet and make friends not only for a trip, but for a lifetime.
